So long 2010!

I cannot believe that we are mere hours away from a new year.

Of course, I say that every year.

I miss how the years used to drag by when I was a kid. Now they seem to speed by faster than me on the way to McDonalds.

No, really...I see a McDonalds and suddenly get a lead foot. It's a weakness. I own it.

But anyway...

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and since I already talk too much, I am going to share a few from the past year.

And make a resolution of sorts to take more pictures of my family and fewer pictures of other families! ( I miss taking pictures simply to capture our lives...not to make monies..)

So, to all of you...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

M'Kayla and her best bud Lexee.

This is our good friend Bryce at church camp. Yes those are beer cans. Yes I said church camp.

Here I am at Riverview bible camp...I found coffee...I was happy!

M'Kayla going off of the platform for the blob at Riverview bible camp...so much fun!

Rick And sis hiking at the painted rock.

There are so many more to come...and I have just discovered that I need to make it my mission to convert all of my pics to jpegs and to take more pics of Clayton...even if he doesn't want me to!

Have a blessed new year everyone!

So. Christmas is over.

I can't believe we are staring down the barrel of 2011.

Wait...what?

Yep. Christmas is over and that means that the new year is right around the corner!

Yay.

So, in the interest of putting off the inevitable, let's go over the highlights of this Christmas!

Brian got a gun. The end.

No, really..that was pretty much the highlight.

Although I did get some SWEET tinkerbell P.J. pants.

I'll be sure to post a picture of them soon.
(or never)

All kidding aside, I love those stinkin' pants.

They are fleece. And being that I STILL have not grown accustomed to the temperatures here in the inland Northwest during the winter months...fleece is my favorite material.

I even wanted fleece sheets. And Brian tried...oh he tried MIGHTILY.

Sadly...he was only able to come up with flannel. And they work by golly!

Especially when combined with my fleece pants. I can't tell you how sexy that must look...Me, hunkered down in my flannel sheets with giant fleece tinkerbell's running amok on my arse.

I'm sure it's Brian's dream come true. (the poor guy)

Moving on..... (you're welcome)

The kids were totally spoiled this year..as usual.

Clayton and M'Kayla got tons of stuff to shoot and stab with. They are happy.

Rick got trains...lots and lots of trains. He is happy.

Brian got a gun and socks and a warm, fleece clad wife...he better be happy!

I got reminded how wonderful my family is and how blessed I am to have them...I am beyond happy!

Now if I could just finish cleaning out the linen closet. But these pants are just too warm and comfortable to work in.

I may just have to sit my fuzzy butt here until after the new year, because I have promised the doctor I will lose weight, and sitting is not conducive to weight loss.

But I'm not starting until 2011...

So for now...I'm just fuzzy butt sitting.

It's Christmas Eve...Yo!

I hope you all are having a fantastic Christmas Holiday!

So far today, I have:
  • Eaten too many cookies. (I'm the best mom ever...cookies for breakfast!)
  • refused to get out of my jammies.
  • ignored the need to do a mountain of laundry.
  • drank far too many cups of coffee and am buzzing on a caffeine high.
  • yelled at Ricky a bazillion times to "get away from that damned tree!"
  • Yelled at charlie to "quit eating those candy wrappers!"
  • Yelled at M'Kayla to "pick up those damned candy wrappers"
  • Made homemade bread (ok..Brian is doing that..I can't take any credit for it)
  • Tripped over the cat who seems to be in the mood to rub on my legs when I walk.
  • Yelled at Ricky..again...to put some pants on.
  • Watched the karate kid.
  • Mourned the loss of Pat Morita.
  • Considered actually doing some of that mountain of laundry.
  • Considered how crazy I am for considering it.
  • Wondered where I can get one of those sweet bandannas that Danielson wore on his head.
  • Reminded Ricky to put on pants...again.
  • Fought the urge to get up and dance wildly while chanting "you can't open your presents yet!" just to torture the kids.
  • Hugged my honey for bringing me an awesome iced mocha.
  • Thanked God for EVERY blessing in my life.
Hope you all have a VERY merry Christmas and that the Lord blesses each and every one of you!

Making the move.

So you may have noticed that a few things about my blog have changed.

You would be what I call "observant"

I have decided it is time for a change, basically because nothing stays the same..ever.

Oh, and I was bored and couldn't sleep.

There's always that.

So, here you find yourself at my new blog.

I decided to title it something new and not quite so "deep"

I mean, what are "paper horses" anyway.

Some metaphor for the fragility of life in the equine world I suppose.

Who knows. I was young and deep into scrapbooking and I am certain that it is, in fact, possible to get a buzz from the fumes that come off of ink pads.

So let's just assume I had been playing with too much distressing ink and leave it at that mmmkay?

I will leave the old blog up, mostly because I'm too lazy to delete it, but also so my (one) readers can find their way here.

As for the rest of this post...I will just have to bore you with the goings on in my day.

It's winter break right now and that means I am not having to wrap myself up like the little brother in a christmas story every morning to go stand on a corner with a bright yellow vest on holding a neon STOP flag.

That means that I have been sleeping in and spending time with the two little kids.

The big one caught the first train to his buddy's house.

He hates me.

I mean, he says he loves me..but what teenager really loves their mom?

I have also decided it's time to clear out the junk in my house.

Which so far consists of me re-arranging my bedroom and donating any and all clothes I have that no longer fit.

I am doing this with Brian's clothes too.

However, I am noticing a disturbing trend....all of my clothes that don't fit are too small. All of his are too big.

Not nice honey....

I am hoping to give every room in the house the same treatment that my bedroom received before school starts back up and I'm back on my corner.

(sounds so dirty doesn't it?)

I want to have one of those homes where I don't have to scare people off with threat of a (fake) illness *cough, cough* so they won't see how horribly cluttered my house is.

I mean, I don't qualify for an episode of "hoarders" or anything...but it's a slippery slope isn't it?

So...while all of you are having fun attending parties and singing carols and making snowmen...think of me and my laundry and never ending piles of McDonalds toys.

And be sure to visit here from time to time to keep me writing.

I need encouragement.

I think I have ADD.

I have trouble finishing things.

Is that a cookie?.......
